Silica as a Skin Nutrient

Before you learn about skin nutrients, it’s important to realize some basic things about the aging process.

The primary thing to know is that as you get older, certainly you will start to notice that you are not the spring chicken you once were.

Were You Rudely Awakened To Aging Signs?

For some people, the time this happens is a rude awakening, especially if it happens like this:

  • Someone takes photos of you at an event and you look old!
  • You catch a glimpse in the mirror of yourself with bad lighting and it exaggerates all your wrinkles.
  • Your ‘friend’ sits down with you for a little conversation and tells you the name of her plastic surgeon. She encourages you to do something before it’s too late.
  • You attend a school reunion event and notice how much everyone else has aged. Then when you get the photos back, you see that you have aged, just like everyone else.
  • Someone guesses your age 10 years older than you really are.

No matter how you discover you are looking older, it is still traumatic.

How To Erase Wrinkles

But what would happen if you could take that trauma and turn it into triumph?

Well, the fact is that you can!No matter where you are starting from, you can look better – and do it without plastic surgery.

The best way to reverse aging is with diet. What you eat and put in your mouth ends up getting assimilated in your body. It either ends up helping or hurting your skin.

Similarly, what you don’t eat ends up either helping or hurting your skin. Thus, you really don’t have a choice if you want pretty, healthy-looking skin.

You will have to pay attention to your diet and the skin nutrients you are or are not feeding your skin.

Nutrient Deficiencies Affect Your Skin Negatively

As a nutritionist, I discovered this little known nutrient that could literally change skin tone in my clients from dull and troubled to smooth and looking vibrant in about a month.

But before you learn about this most important skin nutrient, you should know and understand that if you don’t have one of several different skin nutrients, then you will not ever achieve the best skin possible.

For example, if your immune system function is depressed, then your skin won’t be able to ward off infections too well.

Your immune system can be depressed because of a lack of selenium or zinc. The result could be pimples or other types of sores.

Another example is that of vitamin A. If you have a vitamin A deficiency, then your skin will get very dry and flaky. This will make it more susceptible to wrinkles.

And one last example is that of the skin nutrient vitamin E. When there’s a deficiency of this antioxidant vitamin, what happens is that the skin won’t heal properly and will scar.

The One Skin Nutrient Everyone Is Deficient In

The best skin nutrient is silica. This element actually holds together the cells and is found in the intercellular cement.

It’s important for the skin, the cartilage, the disks of the spine, the eye, the brain, the lungs, and every other organ in the body.

Silica is not found in the soil as much as it was about 40 years ago. It’s possible that some of the silica blew away in the topsoil whenever there were heavy winds during rainstorms.

However, the good news is that there are deposits of silica that can be up to 50 feet thick or more in certain areas of the world.

Silica Is Found In Skin Nutrient Supplements

Some nutritional supplement companies use silica in supplements even though it is not a nutrient that has a required daily amount.

These companies would be excellent ones who have a knowledgeable staff that understands the importance of this skin nutrient.

In fact, if you check the label of many skin nutrient combinations, you’ll usually see silica listed. Other nutrients that may be included would be:

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin E
  • Zinc
  • Niacin
  • Selenium
  • Vitamin D
  • Beta-Carotene

The amounts will vary, depending on the company’s formulation.

The best way to get enough silica is to take it as a separate supplement. Since silica is on the Generally Regarded as Safe list, you don’t have to worry about silica toxicity.

You could take 10 or more capsules daily and still not have to worry about taking too much.

Silica Benefits

Some of the benefits people have recorded in testimonials on the internet include the following:

  • skin tone improves
  • skin texture improves and skin tightens
  • when used as a mask, skin appears smoother
  • can help eliminate an emerging pimple
  • seems to help skin rashes
  • cases of eczema or psoriasis improve
  • skin looks healthier

So this skin nutrient is the one that can probably help you the most – but you won’t know until you try it yourself.
